After Lake Proserpine, we continued on to Bowen where we stayed 4 nights. Can’t say the town of Bowen itself was a return visit place, its where they filmed the movie ‘Australia’, and maybe if it was Mango season I might change my mind, but Horseshoe Bay Beach at Bowen was one of the prettiest beaches I have ever seen. We did a walk on the jetty, did some swimming, looked out for turtles (we saw one).

This is also where we said goodbye to Jodie, KJ and Zephyr. Sad faces all around. We continue to head north, and they continue to head west to see if they can circumnavigate flooded NSW.

We went on to Townsville, where we stopped for lunch then on to Balgal Beach which was a real gem. We stayed there a night, then continued up to Mission Beach, where we will stay for 3 nights.
