Today we are on our way to Derby – to catch up on supplies and hopefully find a washing machine! Derby was a funny place, well worth the visit, but very very quiet. We found a café on the jetty for lunch, and because it was the only place open in town, we decided to have dinner there too – plus it was a great place to watch the sun go down in Derby. Rod ordered his favourite salmon for lunch, it arrived looking suspiciously white, like Barramundi. He ordered salmon again for dinner – it looks like Barra, tastes like Barra but is white salmon – apparently native to Derby called Threadfin Salmon- according to the Derby Waitress, so there you go we always thought salmon was pink or red! We went for a drive and visited the prison tree and generally had a lazy day catching up on reading and washing – and researching white salmon!

I did a 6 week consulting stint up at Derby Hospital about 10 years ago, and yeah, that cafe IS the only place to eat. You’ve can have anything you like, as long as it’s Barramundi!
