We spent a few days in Geraldton as we needed to fit the Wally Wagon with new tyres. Here is where the weather finally turned, it was our first taste of cold wet weather on the whole trip so far. It didn’t stop us enjoying what Geraldton had to offer, we had a lovely lunch at ‘Dome’ on the waterfront. I had some ‘me’ time poking around the shops while Rod did all the running around with Wally for tyres.

Once Wally’s new tyres were fitted we headed to our next roadside freecamp on the way to Wildflower Way, where as timing was aligned, the wildflowers were starting to come out.

We are loving the roadside free camps. They are usually in the most beautiful peaceful places. Often there are about 3 or 4 other travelers at these camping sites so we feel very safe.

The wildflowers were beautiful and we were very lucky that we were here at just the right time.
From here we continued on down the west coast, treating ourselves to a lovely lunch at The Lobster Shack at Jurien Bay.

After another couple of free camps at different reserves. We called into The Pinnacles in Numbung National Park. This desert full of Pinnacles totally amazed us. It was something so unique, you would never expect to find it here, not too far from a capital city.

We headed back to the coast and stayed at a beautiful park opposite the beach at Lancelin. We enjoyed Lancelin so much we extended our stay here. If the weather was warmer we would have spent all our time floating about in the beautiful aqua water.

So time now to move on to Perth, where we are visiting my nephew Pete and his family, and also awaiting the long anticipated meet up with our travel buddies from Darwin, Julie and Brian. More adventures to come.
