We’ve been here in Darwin for the past 3 weeks catching up with our old friends Julie and Brian.
Darwin is an interesting place, the weather has been hot and very predictable with 28-35 degrees every day, lots of beautiful sunsets, and amazing birdlife, interesting markets and a lifestyle that is uniquely Darwin. We survived Territory Day with mass fireworks going off all night, lucky we could catch up with lots of naps through the day. Julie and Brian have been great hosts and we have been so comfortable here enjoying their company, recalling past times and planning future trips.
The plan was to leave here after 4 weeks and continue on our journey together. Unfortunately due to circumstances out of the control of all of us, Julie and Brian will not be able to head off in their Unimog with us as planned. We are all disappointed, but the plan is that hopefully we can catch up together further on down the road.
We were able to do some upgrades on ‘Where’s Wallee’ while we were here and Rod helped Brian with the electrical fit out of the Unimog. Although we have had good times and laughs while we have been here, ultimately we have to move on and continue the journey on our own, initially at least.
