We set out across the Savannah, the landscape again very different to where we have been, very green and grassy. Our first stop was at Pinnarendi Station Stay where we stayed for 2 nights. A working Cattle farm that was set within the beautiful Savannah landscape. This was a favourite place for us to stay. The campground was beautifully landscaped with gardens a lovely cafe (great coffee) and the amenities were next level. We did some lovely walks here to the dams on their property. It was so peaceful and serene.

Next stop was Undara Lava Tubes where we stayed for 3 nights. This area is a huge volcanic region, the National Park is home to approximately 70 volcanos. The campground there was big with a lodge and bar where you could have meals and book various tours. The accommodation was old railway cars which were very unique. We booked a tour to the Archway Lava Tube which was amazing. We did a couple of walks, including the Kalkani Crater rim walk which gave us views of the lava plains that made up the national park.

Next stop along the Savannah Way was to the Talaroo Hot Springs where we stayed for 2 nights. This campground was on Ewamian Country and was run by first nations people. The campground itself was large, with a lovely cafe, a bike track and tracks down to the river. The birdlife here was amazing.
We did a tour with Ethel, who told us all about the area, which used to be a cattle station, and the return back to the Ewamian people who are now custodians of the hot springs and the land around. She showed us bush food that was unique to the area, as well as the animals and plants that are here. Afterwards we had a soak in the hot springs which was lovely. Next we continue along the Savannah Way.
