Spent 3 days here at Emu Park, which is a little south of Yeppoon on the Queensland coast. It was nice to be back on grid for a bit.
This little town really impressed, from the best stocked independently owned supermarket I’ve ever seen, where all the staff looked smart in their white shirts and black ties, to the community gallery which was hosting the 3rd International Art Textile exhibition from Fibre Arts Australia – which was right up my alley – so inspiring – from the Festival of the Wind, which saw the skies above Fisherman’s Beach festooned with colourful kites, to the beautifully curated Memorial Walk that pays respects to the ANZACS, not to mention the convenience of catching a local bus to Yeppoon which was 20kms away for $1 return! This little town certainly had lots to offer.
Well onwards and upwards – now for another long drive, we are heading to Proserpine where we will catch up with Jodie, KJ and Zephyr.
