Made our way to Cowra and stopped at the Japanese Gardens for lunch. The gardens were established as a memorial to both Japanese and Australian POWs. They say the deceased prisoners step down onto the big rocks into the gardens from the heavens, for the peace and serenity the gardens offer. We then headed on to Rankins Springs where we set up for the night. It was really cold, but we were snug and warm in the pod.
We decided to time how long it takes us to set up camp and see if we can better it each time. It took us 30 mins, which wasn’t too bad as we had a running commentary by a friendly grey nomad who decided we were good company and had 1001 questions about the pod. Those grey nomads sure can talk! Mind you, Rod did help to keep the conversation going……I’m sure he’s in training to join the grey nomad club!
Headed off in the rain this morning to Renmark SA via Hay, were you can see forever as the land is so flat. Went via the Fruit Drop off point.
